Rhys' Inversion

Hello, and welcome to the new version of my Inversion. It's been a long time since the last one, so most likely no-one reading this will remember that at all. This particular incarnation will be a very basic site with no flashy effects or anything like that. It's ugly, and I know it, but I think so few of you will be seeing it that it's not worth the time to make it pretty.

If you don't like it here, try www.elysium-rpg.com instead - This is the website for Elysium RPG, a MUD I co-own/run.

This site is divided into sections:

Empires and Rebellions is a text-based war game based in ancient Europe. You take control of a province and attempt to carve, and sustain, an empire through conquest, development and management. There are two main features that made me want to make this game - Rebellions and Provincial conquest. Provincial conquest has been done in many games, which I have acquired since I started coding this game, so that is no longer such an issue. The rebellions in Empires and Rebellions are, in my opinion, good because it means that the landscape of Europe is constantly changing. In most empire building games it seems to be a mix between a few empires expanding and destroying all the others, or all empires staying roughly the same. In Empires and Rebellions, a large empire could rise covering most of eastern Europe, and then 50 years later it could collapse due to its capital being conquered or its leader being unable to contain the rebellions. This makes it interesting to me even if I run the game in observation mode, to see which empires rise, and which ones can maintain their size for the longest - Though I do like odd things like that, so it might not be something most people would enjoy. Other cool features include a religious system which can result in the re-naming of your empire - So for example, if the Roman Empire gets Christianity in a really big way, it can become the Holy Empire of Rome, but if it gets Judaism in a big way, it may become the Holy Land of Rome, and so on. Provinces also get standardised languages based on which empire controlled them when written language is developed - So you could end up with southern France speaking mostly Spanish and northern France speaking mostly German for example.

Click here to visit some Elysium Resources

Elysium RPG is a MUD which I co-own and run. This is a place where I will store some small resources. Many resources are also stored on Elysium's own web page, where you can also find out how to play in Elysium.

I created this section to store resources such as the ill fated (and poorly illustrated) bestiary.
